Today was HMD Global's turn to take the MWC 2018 stage, and the company took that opportunity to introduce a total of five new phones.
HMD Global today announced the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 1, a New Nokia 6, and a refreshed version of the Nokia 8110. Here's how they all break down:
Nokia 8 Sirocco
This high-end phone has curved glass that covers more than 95 percent of its body as well as a steel frame. Its spects include a 5.5-inch Quad HD pOLED screen, dual rear camera setup with a 12MP wide angle lens and 13MP telephoto lens, 5MP front-facing camera, and Snapdragon 835 processor.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is also packing 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Qi wireless charging, USB-C, a 3,260mAh battery, rear fingerprint reader and Android Oreo. This Android One phone wil llaunch in early April for €749 ($920 USD).
Nokia 7 Plus
The new Nokia 7 Plus serves as a more mainstream flagship and boasts a 6-inch 2160x1080 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It's got a ZEISS-branded dual rear camera setup that includes a 12MP camera with f/1.75 aperture and a 13MP sensor with f/2.6 aperture, as well as a 16MP front camera with ZEISS optics that HMD says has "great low-light performance".
The Nokia 7 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor that's paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. Also included is a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, 3,800mAh battery, and Android Oreo. This, too, is an Android One phone, and it'll launch in early April for €399 ($490 USD).
New Nokia 6
This is the same model that debuted in China last month, meaning that it's packing an octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor, 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. There's a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus as well, and an 8MP camera on the front of the phone.
Rounding out this new Nokia 6's spec list is a 3.5mm headphone jack, rear fingerprint reader, USB-C port, 3,000mAh battery, and Android Oreo. The new Nokia 6 is an Android One phone and will launch with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage in early April for €279 ($342 USD). A model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will be released later on.
Nokia 1
This is HMD's entry into the new Android Oreo (Go edition) market. It's got a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras, a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot if you need more storage.
There's an FM radio in the Nokia 1 along with dual SIM slots, a microUSB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, IP52 water resistance, and a removable 2,150mAh battery. The Nokia 1 will go on sale in early April for $85, and HMD plans to sell Xpress-on swappable covers for $7.99 apiece.
Nokia 8110
Finally, this reboot of a classic Nokia feature phone has a curved slider design, 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm 205 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 2MP rear camera, and a 2.45-inch QVGA display. It's also got a 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port, and removable 1,500mAh battery.
On the software side, the Nokia 8110 runs a Smart Feature OS powered by KaiOS. It'll have access to an app store with apps like Google Assistant, Google Search, Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter, Outlook, and Gmail, and a revamped version of Snake is included. HMD has also included 4G onnectivity and Voice over LTE support.
The Nokia 8110 will launch in May at a price of €79 ($97 USD).
