One day after Google released the February 2018 Android security update to Nexus and Pixel phones, another company has released the update to its device.
Essential is now pushing a new software update to the Essential Phone. The update is build NMK24B and it includes the February 2018 Android security patches.
We're rolling out a software update (NMK24B) that includes February 2018 Security Patches from Google.

Essential has been pretty fast with security updates in previous months, and it looks like that continues in February. Considering that Essential is a smaller company that's working to gain attention and consumer trust, this is great to see from Essential and is sure to earn it some loyalty from Essential Phone owners and possibly some interest from non-Essential Phone owners.
If you've got an Essential Phone, keep an eye out for your update over the coming days.
