Huawei confirmed earlier this month that its Mate 10 flagship would be coming to a U.S. carrier in 2018, and now some more details on that release may have leaked out.
The Huawei Mate 10 will launch at AT&T in February, according to a report from The Information. There's no word on its precise launch date or price, but the report does say that Huawei is planning to spend $100 million on advertising in the U.S. in 2018.
As a refresher, the Huawei Mate 10 includes features like a 5.9-inch 2560x1440 display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 4,000mAh battery, and Android 8.0 Oreo. It's also packing a Leica-branded dual rear camera setup with a 12MP RGB sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor.
Huawei has been selling its phones unlocked in the U.S. for quite some time, but because most U.S. consumers still buy their phones from their carriers, selling unlocked phones can only get you so far. AT&T is the second largest carrier in the U.S., so launching on it could really help Huawei to become better known with U.S. consumers. We'll just have to see if AT&T and Huawei can market the Mate 10 enough to convince consumers to buy it.
