Pokémon Go ended up being a huge hit immediately after its launch, and it continues to be a popular game more than one year later. As a result, there's going to be a lot of interest in developer Niantic's next game, and today the company teased just what that'll be.
Niantic is working on an augmented reality (AR) game called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The game will see players learning spells and exploring the real world to fight beasts. Players will also be able to team up with others to fight powerful enemies.
The game will be developed by Niantic and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and WB Games.
Most of the other details of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite are unknown, but the game is expected to launch sometime in 2018.
Considering the huge success of Pokémon Go, it's no surprise to learn that Niantic is planning to use its AR platform to create another mobile game. Whether or not this Harry Potter title will see the same level of success as Pokémon Go remains to be seen, but Harry Potter is a pretty popular brand, and so combining that with Niantic's name and tech does have some potential.
Does this Harry Potter: Wizards Unite sound like a game that you'd play?
