One day after Google unleashed its November 2017 security patches for its Nexus and Pixel devices, the Essential Phone is getting its own security update.

Essential today released an update for the Essential Phone that bumps it to version NMJ32F. The update includes the November 5, 2017 security patches and a fix for fingerprint gesture-related instabilities.

This update is rolling out over the air, so you should see it on your Essential Phone soon. If you'd rather not wait, you can check for the update manually by going into Settings > About Phone > System Update.

While the Essential Phone has always been an attractive piece of kit, it's become even more enticing in recent weeks. Following the $200 price cut that left it at a price of $499 unlocked (and sometimes even cheaper), the phone is getting security updates right after Google released them to Nexus and Pixel phones.
