Earlier this month, we saw the special BlackBerry KEYone Limited Edition Black make its debut in India. Now it looks like that model is ready to go global.
TCL, makers of the KEYone, today confirmed the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition. This blacked out BlackBerry will begin rolling out in Q3 2017 in the U.K., Germany, France, Canada, United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Japan. It’ll arrive in other markets in Europe, Asia, and Latin America later this year.
Pricing for the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition will be set at €649EUR/£549 GBP/$799CAD/2,299 AED/¥79,800 JPY.
As for what makes the BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition different from the standard model that we’ve had for months now, there are a couple of things to note. Obviously there’s the new paint job, which gives the KEYone a matte black finish on its aluminum frame.
The BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition also comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. That’s up from the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage found in the standard KEYone. The BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition also retains the microSD card found in the regular KEYone so that you can add even more storage if you’d like.
Other features of this BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition remain unchanged from the regular KEYone. That means that it’s packing a 4.5-inch 1620x1080 display, Snapdragon 625 processor, 12-megapixel rear camera with IMX378 sensor, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC, USB-C, and a 3,505mAh battery. The KEYone comes equipped with Android 7.1 Nougat.
While there’s nothing wrong with the way the original BlackBerry KEYone looks, this blacked out version looks pretty sharp. Thankfully, TCL is planning on rolling out this BlackBerry KEYone Black Edition globally, giving lots of people the chance to add it to their gadget arsenal.
