After missing the Galaxy S8’s launch and then going through an early access program, Bixby Voice is finally ready for primetime in the U.S.
Samsung is making Bixby Voice available to Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners in the U.S. starting today. To get it, you’ll just need to update your app to the newest version.
At launch, Bixby Voice will be fully integrated across Samsung’s core apps. You can use it to turn on your phone’s flashlight, take a selfie, create a reminder, and find a particular set of photos. Samsung says that Bixby Voice support for more native apps and third-party apps will be offered through Bixby Labs.
Bixby is a big deal on the Galaxy S8, with Samsung dedicated a hardware button to the assistant, and so it’s good to see Bixby Voice finally launching in the U.S. Voice is a big part of Bixby, with Samsung previously touting how you can use it to do just about anything you can do by touching or typing. Now that it’s finally arrived in the U.S., it’ll be interested to see just how well Bixby Voice performs following its delay.
If you’ve got a Galaxy S8 or S8+, be sure to share your first impressions of Bixby Voice with us!
