A new Snapchat update is now rolling out, and it’s bringing with it a few new features.
First up, Paperclip lets you attach a website link to your Snaps. You just need to tap the paperclip icon and then enter a link. A swipe-up arrow will be shown on Snaps with links attached, and a preview will be shown next to that arrow to let you get an idea of what the link will send you to when you open it.
Links used to only be available to ads and Discover content, so it’s good to see them becoming available to all Snapchat users via the Paperclip feature. Sometimes when you’re sharing a Snap of a product or place, you may want to make it easy for your friends to learn more about what they’re looking at, and the Paperclip feature is perfect for that.
Also rolling out today is Backdrops. This feature will let you cut out objects in a Snap and then place a pattern behind it. Simply tap the scissors in the vertical toolbar, trace around the object that needs to stand out, and select the design that you want on the background.
Finally, Voice Filters are exactly what they sound like. You can use Voice Filters to alter the voices in your Snaps. Snapchat has actually offered voice filters in the past, but they were tied to augmented reality lenses. Now you can simply alter your voice in a Snap without adding any other effects.
These new features are now rolling out in a Snapchat update, so keep an eye on the Play Store or App Store for a new version of the app.
