Now that the HTC U11 is on shelves and in consumers’ hands, the rumor mill is turning its attention to the next HTC release.
HTC is reportedly prepping a new phone codenamed Ocean Life. That’s according to noted HTC leaker LlabTooFeR, who says that the device will allegedly run Android 7.1.1 on a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display and feature 16-megapixel front and rear cameras, a Snapdragon 660 processor, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 2600mAh battery.
Also of note is that the Ocean Life will reportedly include Edge Sense, the HTC U11 feature that allows you to squeeze the sides of the device to perform actions. The Ocean Life is also expected to include HTC’s Sense 9.0 user interface and USonic, HTC’s audio tech that claims to analyze your inner ear and tune the phone’s sound profile to optimize your listening.
This HTC Ocean Life sounds like it could be a smaller, more affordable version of the HTC U11 flagship. The 5.7-inch display found on the U11 might be too large for some folks, but a 5.2-inch screen ought to be more manageable for them. And with its more mid-range spec list, the Ocean Life could give price-conscious shoppers an experience that’s similar to the U11 but at a more affordable price tag.
Based on what we’ve heard about it so far, does this HTC Ocean Life interest you?
