Father’s Day is this weekend, and if you think that a digital assistant would be a good gift for your dad, then Amazon’s got some deals for you.
Amazon is now discounting both its Echo and Echo Dot, which are powered by the retailer’s Alexa assistant. The Echo is now priced at $139.99, which is $40 off its normal price. Meanwhile, the Echo Dot is $39.99, a full $10 off its regular price.
Both devices are currently in stock and ready to ship, and while orders placed today won’t be delivered until early next week, I’m sure most dads wouldn’t mind a slightly belated gift.
The Echo and Echo Dot are smart speakers that can play music over Bluetooth or a 3.5mm cable as well as respond to voice commands. You can use your voice to do things like control smart home products, get answers to questions, check the weather, order a pizza or an Uber, and more. Amazon recently added support for calling and texting, too, and you can contact other Echo and Echo Dot owners as well as Android and iOS users that have the Amazon Alexa app installed on their phones.
