HTC’s latest Android flagship has arrived.
HTC announced today that the U11 is now shipping to customers. The device went up for pre-order when it was announced last month, so if you ordered a U11 from HTC since then, it should be on its way to you now.
If you didn’t pre-order an HTC U11 but find yourself wanting one now, that’s no problem. The U11 is now available from Amazon for $649.99. Amazon is selling the unlocked model, which is compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the US. Sprint customers can snag an HTC U11 from Sprint itself. HTC's online store is currently out of U11 stock, with new orders expected to go out in 2-4 weeks.
The HTC U11 runs Android 7.1 on a 5.5-inch 2560x1440 Super LCD 5 display. Its highlight feature is Edge Sense, which lets you perform customizable actions by squeezing the sides of the phone. One example is that you can squeeze the U11 once to launch the camera, then squeeze it again to take a photo, which should help to make one-handed use of this phablet easier.
HTC is also touting the U11’s camera, which earned a score of 90 from camera testing site DxOMark, which is the highest score a phone has gotten. The HTC U11’s camera is a 12-megapixel camera with UltraPixel 3 tech as well as OIS and EIS. Around on the front of U11 is a 16-megapixel camera.
Rounding out the HTC U11’s feature set is a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a microSD slot for adding more storage. There’s a 3000mAh battery inside the U11 and a USB-C port for charging. Finally, the HTC U11 is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance.
So now that the HTC U11 has been official for a month and is shipping to customers, what are your impressions of the device? Are you going to pick one up?
