It’s a new month, which means that it’s time for some updated Android platform distribution numbers.
Google today released its latest Android distribution numbers that reveal which versions of Android were used to access the Play Store over the last seven days. Android Nougat finished at 9.5 percent, which is a healthy increase from the 7.1 percent usage it had last month. Android Marshmallow usage has held steady at 31.2 percent for the third month.
Android Lollipop finished this latest period with 30.8 percent usage, down from 32.0 percent last month. Android KitKat slipped slightly, too, going from 18.8 percent last month to 18.1 percent this month. Android Jelly Bean fell to 8.8 percent usage and Android Ice Cream Sandwich stayed at 0.8 percent usage.
Finally, usage of Android Gingerbread slipped from 1.0 percent to 0.8 percent.
