ZTE Blade X Max launching at Cricket Wireless with 6-inch display, Android 7.1.1

Last month, ZTE launched an Android phablet on Boost Mobile. Now it's Cricket's turn to get a new big-screened Android handset.

The ZTE Blade X Max is launching at Cricket Wireless tomorrow, May 12, with an MSRP of $149.99. Customers that port in to Cricket and buy the Blade X Max starting May 12 can save $50 on the device.

When it comes to specs, the ZTE Blade X Max is running Android 7.1.1 on a 6-inch 1920x1080 display. There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and  a fingerprint reader below it, as well as a 5-megapixel camera around front.

Inside the Blade X Max’s shell lives an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 3400mAh non-removable battery. You can recharge that battery over USB-C, and Quick Charge 2.0 is included.

While the Blade X Max isn’t the most high-end Android phone around, it does have some nice features for an affordable phablet, like a high-res display and beefy battery. The inclusion of Android 7.1.1 is nice, too, especially since there are even some flagships on the market today that aren’t on Android 7.1 or higher yet. So if you’re in the market for an affordable Android phone, the ZTE Blade X Max could be worth a look.
