Snapchat is rolling out an update to its Android and iPhone apps today, and there’s a pretty big change included with it.
Snapchat is adding Limitless Snaps that let you view a Snap for as long as you’d like. Previously, messages could only be viewed for up to 10 seconds before they disappeared, but now senders can let their recipients view a Snap for as long as they’d like. Once they’re done viewing it, the Snap will be deleted just as before.
The addition of Limitless Snaps is a big deal because it gives your friends unlimited time to view (and screenshot) an image. While the images are still ephemeral, now your friends can just leave a Snap on their screen to examine, show others, and so on. The good news is that you can decide if a Snap is limitless before you send it, so it’s not like anyone can view any Snap for as long as they want.
Today’s update also adds a Magic Eraser that can be accessed by tapping the Scissors tool, then tapping the Stars icon after takin an image. This tool can help you hide objects in your Snap. Support for drawing emojis is also included in today’s update, as well as looping video Snaps.
