Last month, Samsung confirmed that it would release a software update to address the complaints of Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners that said their devices had red-tinted displays. Now that update has finally arrived in the US.
T-Mobile is now pushing updates to its Galaxy S8 and S8+ that include a reddish display fix. Specifically, the update offers “improved color optimization and convenient color adjustment.”
Galaxy S8 owners on T-Mobile should keep an eye out for an update to version G950USQU1ADQE, which is 141.89MB. Meanwhile, T-Mobile Galaxy S8+ owners will be getting an update to version G955USQU1AQDE that weighs in at 138.43MB.
This red tint display issue isn’t one that affected every single Galaxy S8 out there, but for those folks that did see the issue, it was a big deal. After all, when you drop hundreds of dollars of a flagship-tier smartphone, you want everything to work properly. Now T-Mobile customers should be free of any red tint issues that they were may have experienced on their Galaxy S8.
If you’ve got a T-Mobile Galaxy S8 or S8+ and haven’t yet gotten this update, you can check for it manually by going into Settings > System updates > Download updates manually.
