Sprint has announced an updated international service offering.
With Sprint, customers will get free 2G data in more than 165 destinations as well as free text messaging and $0.20 per minute voice calling. Customers can buy LTE data for $2 per day or $10 per week in Canada and Mexico, or $5 per day and $25 per week in most other destinations.
Customers will be presented with their service options and prices on their phone when they arrive in a foreign country. Sprint customers can also access a data management tool that’ll show real-time data usage for free.
It’s worth noting that Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom customers receive free LTE data roaming, voice calling, text messaging, and international long distance while in Canada and Mexico.
Traveling internationally can take a lot of planning, and so Sprint is aiming to make that travel easier by giving free 2G data and texting so that customers can be connected right when they land. It’s also nice that Sprint customers can view their high-speed data rates and real-time data usage on their phone so that they can quickly manage their data rather than spending their vacation time talking on the phone to customer service.
