The Samsung Galaxy S8 is a pretty high-end smartphone, packing a large 2960x1440 display and a flagship octa-core processor. However, it turns out that Samsung is prepping an even higher-end model of the S8.
Samsung will create a special edition of the Galaxy S8 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage, which is 2GB more RAM and double the storage than what's included with the standard Galaxy S8. That’s what Samsung has told Yonhap News Agency, who say that this special GS8 will be offered in Midnight Black.
The bad news is that the report also states that the special edition Galaxy S8 will be sold in South Korea initially, where it’ll cost 1.15 million won, or $1018 USD. Samsung has said that it’ll consider expanding availability of the device if there is market demand.
Not only would a Galaxy S8 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage come in handy for running and storing more apps on your smartphone, but those upgrades would also be nice when using the GS8 with Samsung’s DeX accessory. That DeX dock lets you use the GS8 like a PC by connecting a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and so having more RAM could be helpful for running apps on a big monitor.
Would you buy a Galaxy S8 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage if Samsung offered it in your home country?
