Pandora originally teased its Pandora Premium streaming service back in December 2016, and now it’s finally ready to go.
Pandora Premium launches this week. Invitations for a free trial of the service will begin rolling out on March 15, and the option to upgrade will be made available to everyone in the coming weeks. You can go right here to request an invitation.
The service costs $9.99 per month and, unlike regular Pandora, it offers on-demand streaming so that you can listen to any song whenever you’d like. You can also have Pandora create a playlist for you after selecting one or two songs and then tapping Add Similar Songs, and any song you’ve ever Thumbs Up-ed on Pandora will be available in a single playlist. Also available is an offline mode so that you can download music for when you don’t have an internet connection.
There’s no shortage of music streaming services available now, including heavy hitters like Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play Music. Pandora Premium is facing some stiff competition, but Pandora has been in the music streaming game for a while and is a pretty well-known name, so it can use that name to help push its new Premium service. We’ll just have to see if that name and features like a Thumbs Up-ed playlist are enough to get people to move to Pandora Premium.
