Earlier this year, Twitter began embedding Periscope streams into users’ feeds. Now Twitter is building Periscope support even further into its app.
Starting today, you can begin a live video stream from the Twitter app. When you’re ready to stream, you compose a tweet in the Twitter app and then tap the “LIVE” button. You’ll be able to get your shot ready, then tap “Go Live” to begin broadcasting.
When you’re streaming from Twitter, your video will be viewable in both the Twitter and Periscope apps. Users will be able to comment and leave hearts on your video, too.
We're making it easier for you to share what's happening in your world. Now you can #GoLive on Twitter!https://t.co/frWuHaPTFJ pic.twitter.com/Xpfpk1zWJV

The ability to start Periscope streams from the Twitter app will be available on Android and iOS, and you should see the update in the coming days.
Adding this feature is a smart move by Twitter. By enabling users to start Periscope streams from the Twitter app, Twitter is exposing many more people to the experience of live streaming. There are a lot of folks that may never download Periscope, but now that they’ve got the Twitter app, they might try a live stream because the feature is right there in their compose screen.
