If you’ve been testing Android 7.1 using Google’s preview, it’s time for you to update.
Google is now rolling out Android 7.1 Developer Preview 2, which is also the final update to the preview. The update is available to the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, and Pixel C.
If you’re already running the Android 7.1 Developer Preview using the Android Beta Program, you’ll get Developer Preview 2 over the coming week. If you’re not in the Android Beta Program, you can sign up here and get the update over the air.
Android 7.1.1 will roll out to the public starting in December. It’ll be available to all four preview devices named above as well as the Pixel and Pixel XL.
The update to Android 7.1 for non-Pixel devices will bring with it App Shortcuts, which let you long-press on an app icon to jump to a specific part of the app. Google will also include support for round icons and image keyboard, which will let you insert images and other content into your messages using your keyboard.
