Gmail for iOS update brings a fresh design, Undo Send, and more

Today’s a big day for the Gmail, as the official iOS app is getting a major makeover.

Gmail for iOS is now being updated to version 5.0.3, and included is a fresh coat of paint that brings the app in line with its Android counterpart. That includes a red bar up top and a floating action button for composing new messages.

Also included in today’s update is an Undo Send feature. As its name suggests, this feature will let you call back an email shortly after you sent it, which could come in handy in case you forgot to include something right after you hit the “Send” button.

Here’s Google’s official changelog for this Gmail update:

The Gmail you know and love, now with a fresh new look, sleeker transitions and some highly-requested features. It's a lot faster, too.

  • Undo Send: prevent embarrassing mistakes
  • Search: find things faster with instant results and spelling suggestions
  • Swipe to archive/delete: quickly clear out your inbox

This is a pretty spiffy update for the Gmail for iOS app. The new look is much, much better than the old one, giving Gmail an up-to-date design and some splashes of color. Then there are the new features, with Undo Send being a major addition that can help save you from making an embarrassing mistake or bombarding someone’s inbox with multiple emails.

You can download Gmail for iOS and check out its new design and features for yourself by getting it from the App Store right here.
