When Apple announced the Apple Watch Series 2 last month, it revealed a special running-focused Apple Watch Nike+ version of its wearable. Apple didn’t give a specific release date for the Nike+ watch at that time, but now that detail has been revealed.
The Apple Watch Nike+ will be available starting this Friday, October 28, from Apple.com, Nike.com, Apple and Nike retail stores, and other retailers. Pricing will be set at $369 for the 38mm watch and $399 for the larger 42mm version.
This version of the Apple Watch Series 2 comes with a few special features. Those include special watch bands, unique watch faces, and a Nike+ Run Club app that’ll motivate you to go for a run and show you challenges from your friends.
This Apple Watch Nike+ features the same body as the Apple Watch Series 2. That means that it includes GPS and is water resistant up to 50 meters.
The look of the Apple Watch Nike+ is definitely unique thanks to the watch band’s holes, which Apple says reduces the weight of the band and improves ventilation. Those features plus the Nike+ Run Club app make this the Apple Watch to get if you’re at all interested in running. And the good news is that if you’re not quite feeling the bright green holes in two of the watch bands, there are two other bands available that are a bit more subdued.
