Google testing Play Store change that makes it easier to find an Android app's file size

Many Android users can use a microSD slot with their phones, letting them add more storage to their device when the built-in storage no longer cuts it. Not everyone has the luxury of expandable storage, though, but there’s a new Play Store feature that’ll help them when deciding whether or not to download an app.

Google is testing a new Play Store feature that’ll make it much easier to find an app’s total size. That includes showing the app’s size in app card on your Play Store update screen, your My Apps screen, the Top Charts page, and more.

You can find an app’s size right now by going to its page, tapping “Read More” in the description, then scrolling to the bottom. So this tweak makes it much easier to find that info.

This appears to be a server-side change, so there’s not really anything you can do to enable this new app size display feature on your device right now. It’s unclear when or if Google will roll it out more broadly. It’d be a nice feature for everyone to have, though, as it’d help many Android users better manage their device’s storage.
