Alcatel shows new Android devices at IFA 2016, including Pop 4 phone with 6-inch display

The flurry of new phone being announced at IFA 2016 continues today, the first official day of the show, with some news from Alcatel.

Alcatel has launched a quartet of new Android devices: the Pop 4 10-inch and 7-inch tablets, a 6-inch smartphone, and an affordable Shine Lite phone. Here’s how the spec lists for the three new devices break down:

  • Pop 4 6-inch: 6-inch 1920x1080 IPS display with 2.5D glass, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, a fingerprint reader, and a 3,500mAh battery.
  • Pop 4 7-inch: 7-inch “high-definition” IPS display, quad-core MediaTek MT8735 processor, LTE Cat. 4 support.
  • Pop 4 10-inch: 10-inch 1920x1080 display, octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor, dual front-facing speakers.
  • Shine Lite: 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D glass, 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone flash, front-facing camera with flash, fingerprint reader, metallic rear shell.

Alcatel’s three new Pop 4 devices will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa starting in mid-October. Meanwhile, Alcatel hasn’t mentioned its launch timing for the Shine Lite, but it has said that it’ll be available for less than $200 USD.
