Android fans, you’d better clear your schedule on October 4.
Google will unveil several new pieces of hardware on October 4, says the folks at Android Police. The event will include the official reveal of the Pixel and Pixel XL phones, a new 4K-capable Chromecast (which will be called Chromecast Plus or Chromecast Ultra), and Google’s Daydream VR viewer (which could be called Daydream View).
It’s also expected that we’ll get more details on the Google Home at this event.
While still unofficial, an early October debut for Google’s new not-Nexus phones would make sense. The past two Nexus phone announcements have fallen around the same time, and while these new phones aren’t technically Nexuses, it’s looking like they’ll take the place of new Nexus phones this year.
The good news is that it’s expected that the Pixel and Pixel XL will be available on or shortly after October 4, so we won’t have to wait long to try Google and HTC’s new phones after they’re revealed.
