Samsung may soon sell refurbished versions of high-end Galaxy phones

Samsung currently sells unlocked phones directly to consumers, and soon, it could start offering refurbished models, too.

A new report claims that Samsung will soon begin offering refurbished versions of its high-end smartphones. These devices would be the premium phones that Samsung gets back from their yearly Galaxy upgrade programs in places like South Korea and the U.S.

It’s unclear exactly which markets Samsung will sell their refurbished phones or when they’ll begin the sales. Also unknown is how much of a discount the refurbished phones will sell for. Details of the program could be finalized as soon as 2017, though.

While still not official, Samsung selling refurbished phones could be a good move. Not only would it give a bump to Samsung’s earnings, but it could also be a good way to tempt consumers in the market for a new phone to go with Samsung. With this refurbished sales program, shoppers could be confident that these refurbished Samsung phones are in good condition and from a reputable source, which could convince them to buy a Galaxy device over another phone from a different seller.
