After launching two square-faced Android Wear smartwatches, ASUS may be prepping a round watch.
A new FCC filing for the ASUS ZenWatch 3 has been discovered. There’s not a ton of information available in documents, but we can see the FCC label that’ll appear on the device. As you can see above, it’s in the shape of a circle, suggesting that the ZenWatch 3 will have a round face rather than a square one.
As I mentioned before, there aren’t many other details about the ZenWatch 3 revealed in the FCC’s listing, so the spec details of the ZenWatch 3 are still up in the air.
Several popular Android Wear smartwatches have had round faces, including the Huawei Watch and Moto 360 (2015). ASUS used square faces on its first two Android Wear smartwatches, but it looks like the company decided to switch to a round face for its next smartwatch, which could give it look that’s more reminiscent of an analog watch. Now we just have to wait for ASUS’s announcement to learn more about what makes the ZenWatch 3 tick.
When it comes to smartwatches, do you prefer a round or square face?
