Verizon Wireless offers new 4-line family plan with 16GB data per month for only $150

Earlier in the week, Verizon talked about their plans of disconnecting unlimited data customers who were using an exceedingly high amount of data. But while this was something they intended to do, the Big Red expressed yesterday that they are presenting new options for those who consume extraordinary amounts of data on their device. This was officially announced yesterday, when the network unveiled their new family plan that would provide 16GB of data on 4 lines for only $150 per month.

Along with this new plan, Verizon has announced that they would be adding an extra 2GB of data onto each line that has been activated or upgraded. In addition to this, each new line activated is qualified to receive a Samsung Galaxy J3 V for free. This free phone is equipped with a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 720p resolution and VoLTE support. It may not be the hottest device in the market but it still is a great option for those who are first-time smartphone owners. It currently costs $168 at full retail. Verizon plans to provide a monthly bill credit of $7 for 2 years in order to cover the cost of the device.

Verizon is also enticing people to switch from their current carriers to one of the plans they offer. In such case, users may be eligible to receive up to $650 that can be used to break any existing contracts or pay off an old phone.

While all these things sound pretty appealing, it's important to know that these offers come with their own admonitions. For one thing, the extra 2GB monthly data allowance Verizon plans to give may only be used on smartphones. This means it is not available on tablets or any other connected device included in the account. To keep receiving the extra data, you will need to keep their Verizon L plan (or higher) active throughout the contract period.
