The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Apple iPhone 7 are two of the biggest phones still to come in 2016. It’s expected that Samsung will launch its new flagship next month, and now we might know when Apple will launch its new phone, too.
The next iPhone will launch in stores on Friday, Sept. 16, says prolific leaker Evan Blass. If that’s the case, we could see Apple announce its new phone the first week of September, if Apple’s past few iPhone launches are anything to go by.
Blass also recently reported that the codenames for Apple’s two new iPhones are Sonora and Dos Palos.
As for the phones themselves, rumors have suggested that this year’s iPhones will only have “subtle changes” compared to last year’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Those “subtle changes” are rumored to include fewer antenna lines and some tweaks to the devices’ rear cameras. Additionally, it’s been suggested that the new iPhone models will lack 3.5mm headphone jacks and that the base models will include 32GB of storage, not 16GB last the past few iPhone generations.
