Launching as part of the Amazon Prime Exclusive program, which offers discounts on Android phones that show lock screen ads, this is the new BLU R1 HD.
The R1 HD is the latest affordable Android smartphone from BLU Products. It starts at $99.99 for a model with 8GB of built-in storage and 1GB of RAM, and goes up to $109.99 for a handset with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. Both models include a microSD slot that you can use to add up to 64GB of additional storage.
BLU’s R1 HD features a 5-inch 1280x720 display, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera with wide-angle lens, and a quad-core MedaiTek 6735 processor. It’s powered by a 2500mAh battery and includes 4G LTE bands 2, 4, 7, and 17, and BLU plans to add LTE band 12 support in a future update. Finally, the R1 HD runs Android 6.0, and BLU says that it’s upgradeable to Android N.
You can pre-order the BLU R1 HD from Amazon today ahead of its July 12 launch date. Amazon is also offering a Prime Exclusive version of the R1 HD that is $50 cheaper and comes preloaded with lock screen ads and Amazon apps.
