Apparently 2016 is the year of big changes at Twitter, because after rolling out tweaks like 140-second videos and photos and links that don’t count against your character limit, Twitter is now rolling out a new photo-centric feature.
Twitter today announced that it’s rolling out stickers to its Android and iOS apps. Adding stickers to your photos is pretty easy: After you take your photo, you can tap the sticker button that’ll live alongside your photo edit options. You can move, rotate, and resize your stickers, and when you’re done, post your photo to Twitter.
Once you’ve used a sticker, you can tap on it to view other photos that include the same sticker. This turns the stickers into a special kind of hashtag.
Stickers are pretty popular in messaging apps like Snapchat, WhatsApp, Line, and others, so it’s no surprise to see Twitter adopt them, too. There are still other features missing from Twitter that I’m sure folks would like to see instead of sticker support, like the ability to edit a tweet, but there will likely be just as many people excited to see stickers included with Twitter now.
