Today’s a good day for Samsung Galaxy owners on T-Mobile.
First up, T-Mobile is pushing an Android 6.0.1 update to its version of the Galaxy S5. Included are Marshmallow goodies like Google Now on Tap and Doze mode battery optimizations, as well as Google’s May Android security patches. T-Mo says that there’s a “device slowness fix” in there, too.
This update is more than 1GB in size and is available over the air and through Samsung’s PC software. To go the OTA route, head into your Settings app and go to “About device” and then tap “Software update”. If you’d prefer to update using your PC, you can use Samsung’s Smart Switch software to do so.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile is also updating its Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. These updates are much smaller, weighing in at around 43MB and offering only a “Google Security update” for both phones.
To update your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, grab your phone and go into Settings > About device > Download updates manually.
