One week after Google announced enhanced ride-sharing features for Google Maps, the features have started rolling out to the iOS version of the app.
Google Maps version 4.17.0 is now rolling out in the App Store, and it includes a dedicated ride services tab that’ll let you easily compare the pickup times and prices of supported ride-sharing services in your country. The tab currently supports Uber, 99Taxis, Ola Cabs, Hailo, MyTaxi, and Gett. To get the services to show up in the tab, though, you’ll need to have the service’s app installed.
Other features of this new Google Maps include Spotlight search support for saved places, the ability to save your route options, and bug fixes. Here’s the official changelog:
This is a nice update that’ll make it easier for you to check out your ride service options when mapping out your travel. Support for Uber pickup times and pricing isn’t new, but the dedicated ride services tab makes it easier to find that info.
