Just as expected, registration for Google I/O 2016 is now open.
Google is accepting applications for I/O 2016 through 5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET on March 10. After that time, Google will randomly select applicants and give them the opportunity to buy one ticket to I/O 2016, which will be priced at $900. A limited number of $300 academic tickets will be available, too. And if you feel like you need to rush to the site to apply, Google promises that the order in which applications are sent has no bearing on the selections.
I/O 2016 will take place from May 18-20 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. While the even is primarily focused on developers, Google often gives us a peek at some of its upcoming Android features, including ones that’ll appear in the next major version of Android. So while you may not want to pony up $900 to attend I/O 2016 if you’re not a developer, the show itself will be worth paying attention to.
