Instagram for Windows 10 Mobile beta app can now be downloaded

One common criticism of Microsoft’s Windows phone software is that it lacks big name apps, with Snapchat often cited as one of the most glaring hole in the Windows Store. However, there are some big apps that have made the jump to Windows, including Instagram. And today there’s some big news for Instagram users on Windows 10 Mobile.

The Instagram app for Windows now includes Windows 10 Mobile support, meaning that those of using a Lumia 950, 950 XL, 650, 550, or a device on the W10M Insider Preview now have an Instagram app tailored for their devices. It’s worth noting that this is still classified as a beta app, though, and the app’s page notes that there are three known issues with the current version:

  • Facebook login
  • "Share to" functionality
  • Crashes/stability in creation workflow

Instagram is nothing new to Windows users, as they’ve had both an official app and a solid third-party option for a while now. Still, it’s nice to see Facebook and Instagram updating the official Windows phone Instagram client for Windows 10 devices.
