Last week we got our first peek at the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge thanks to some leaked images that showed the faces of both phones. Now they’re back, and this time they’re showing off their backsides.
New images of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have been shared by Evan Blass. These latest renders show off the back of the two phones, which look a lot like the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. There’s a squircle camera, a flash to its right, and some branding beneath that. The sides of the phones look like they could have some slight curvature, but that’s tough to say for sure just by looking at these images.
One other detail that’s worth noting is that the rear cameras on the GS7 and GS7 edge are said to be flush with the their backs. The GS6 and GS6 edge had protruding rear cameras, so the flush rear cameras on the GS7 and GS7 edge could be the one big design change between Samsung’s 2015 and 2016 flagships.

Judging by the leaks that we’ve seen so far, the design of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 devices will be largely similar to the Galaxy S6 family. There will likely be some small refinements here and there, like the flush rear camera, but don’t expect any major overhaul. That’s not a bad thing, though, because the Galaxy S6 is a good-looking phone with premium materials.
The good news is that while the GS7 and GS6 may look similar, the Galaxy S7 will likely have upgraded internals. The rumor mill has suggested that the S7 will pack an octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor (at least in North America), 4GB of RAM, a microSD slot, and a 3000mAh battery, which is beefier than the 2550mAh battery found in the Galaxy S6.
Samsung is hosting an event on February 21, and it’s expected that we’ll see the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge unveiled there. The two phones will reportedly launch on March 11.
