Remember last week when it was speculated that Apple could add a Night Shift toggle to Control Center in a future version of iOS 9.3? That’s exactly what just happened.
Apple today pushed out iOS 9.3 beta 2 to registered developers. The most notable change in this new beta is the addition of a Night Shift button in Control Center. The button is located smack dab in the middle of the bottom row of squircle buttons, so the order now goes Flashlight, Timer, Night Shift, Calculator, Camera.
Night Shift is perhaps the biggest addition to iOS 9.3. With it enabled, your iPhone or iPad will slowly shift its display to a warmer, more yellow hue that’s meant to be easier on your eyes during nighttime use. Other features included in the iOS 9.3 beta include the ability to pair multiple Apple Watches with a single iPhone, Health and CarPlay improvements, the ability to lock Notes with Touch ID, and education-focused tweaks like multi-user support.
Apple today also unleashed watchOS 2.2 beta 2. The update to watchOS 2.2 includes support for the ability to pair multiple watches to one iPhone, as well as an update to Maps.
If you’re a registered iOS developer, you can grab iOS 9.3 beta 2 and watchOS 2.2 beta 2 right now. As for when the public push will happen, there are Apple announcements rumored for the week of March 14, so we could see public iOS 9.3 and watchOS 2.2 releases then.
