It’s not often that subscriptions to Amazon Prime go on sale, but that’s precisely what’s going to happen this weekend.
From January 15 through January 17, Amazon will offer discounted subscriptions to its Prime service. Normally priced at $99 per year, the discounted Amazon Prime will be sold for $73, a nod to Amazon’s wins at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards. The sale price will go live at 9:00 pm PT on January 15 and will last through 11:59 pm local time on January 17.
Amazon also says that it’s making Mozart in the Jungle free to watch through the Amazon Video apps and online at Amazon.com/mozartinthejungle. The show will be available for free during the same period of time that Amazon Prime is being discounted. For those that missed the Golden Globe Awards, that’s the show that won for Amazon.
An Amazon Prime subscription has several perks. Most folks know about the free two-day shipping, but it also includes ad-free Prime Music streaming, unlimited photo storage, Kindle Owners’ Lending Library for books, Prime Instant Video streaming, and more. Unfortunately, this $73 sale only applies to new customers. But if you’ve yet to try out Amazon Prime, this weekend would be a great time to sign up.
