When the Nexus 5X launched last year, it was priced at $379 for the 16GB model and $429 for the 32GB version. The 5X enjoyed some nice discounts over the holidays, but those sales were only available for a limited time. However, the 5X has now gotten what appears to be a more permanent price cut.
The Google Store is now selling the 16GB Nexus 5X for a starting price of $349, which is $30 less than that model’s original asking price. Meanwhile, the more capacious 32GB Nexus 5X is now priced at $399, which is also $30 less than its launch price.

With the “affordable flagship” category of smartphones getting so competitive lately, this Nexus 5X price cut makes a lot of sense. While the 5X offers a nice spec list, there are a lot of other devices in the price range that are just as competitive, so knocking $30 off the 5X’s price should help LG and Google’s Nexus to better fight the likes of the Moto X Style/Pure Edition and OnePlus 2.
