Facebook Music Stories expanding today, coming to Android in early January

Facebook recently launched a Music Stories feature that’ll make it easier to check out songs shared by your FB friends. Music Stories originally only worked on iOS, and only with Apple Music and Spotify, but today the feature is expanding.

Facebook says that Music Stories is getting an update today that’ll enable it to work on the desktop. The feature is also gaining support for Deezer, Rhapsody, KKBOX, and NPR on both iOS and the web. As for you Android folk, Facebook says that Music Stories will hit your devices in late January.

Lots of folks share music on Facebook, but typically you’d have to jump from Facebook to a music service to check out whatever songs your friends might’ve shared. Music Stories aims to change that by letting you play 30-second clips of songs directly in the Facebook app, complete with artist info and album art. While you can’t listen to a full song inside of Facebook, you can use that 30-second preview to decide if you want to actually jump to another app to listen to the whole song.

Have you tried Facebook’s Music Stories yet?
