DROID Turbo 2 will get Star Wars customizations on December 11

Five years after launching an R2-D2 version of the DROID 2, Motorola and Verizon are once again teaming up on a Star Wars-themed device.

The DROID Turbo 2 will be offered in special edition Star Wars: The Force Awakens versions starting tomorrow, December 11. The phones will be through Motorola’s Moto Maker customization tool.  As for what will make them special, the phones will include custom color palates and backs based on Poe Dameron, Rey, BB-8, a First Order Stormtrooper, and Kylo Ren.

To help Star Wars-ify your phone even further, Verizon plans to launch an app in Google Play that’ll include wallpapers with Star Wars characters.

The designs on these Star Wars DROID Turbo 2 models look like they line up nicely with the characters that they’re based on. I’m still a bit partial to the R2-D2 DROID 2, which had a full-on customization that included an R2-D2 design on its backside, but these DROID Turbo 2 phones do look good while not screaming “I love Star Wars!” like the R2-D2 DROID 2 did.
