Remember the Pebble Time Round? Pebble’s first round smartwatch was announced at the end of September, but we haven’t heard much about the device since then. That’s changing today, though.
The Pebble Time Round will officially launch this Sunday, November 8, from Best Buy and Target stores as well as Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Pebble’s websites. Pricing for the round Pebble smartwatch will be set at $249.
The Pebble Time Round features an e-paper display, just like Pebbles before it, just in a round shape rather than a square one. The Pebble Time Round measures 7.5mm thick and weighs 28 grams, and Pebble says that it’s the thinnest and lightest smartwatch around. That thinness comes at a bit of a cost, though, as Pebble says that the Time Round can get up to 2 days of battery life on a single charge, which is quite a bit less than the Pebble Time’s up to 7 days of battery life. The Pebble Time Round does have a quick-charging feature that’ll get you a day of battery life in 15 minutes.
As far as color options go, there are Black and Silver cases for the 20mm watch band size, while the 14mm band size is available in Black, Silver, and Rose Gold.
The Pebble Time Round has a nice design, and its round face and always-on display let it look and act like a traditional analog watch. That bezel may be a deal breaker for some, but some folks may accept that to have a watch with an always-on e-paper display. Pebble is also touting the Pebble Time Round as a good smartwatch for folks with small wrists, so if you fit into that group, this new device may be worth a look.
