The end of September and the start of October is shaping up to be a busy time in mobile. It’s rumored that Google will hold a Nexus event on September 29, Microsoft has a big shindig on October 6, and now LG has announced a gathering of its own.
LG is hosting an event on October 1 in New York. The invitation for the event shows a clapperboard that includes a theme of “Save the Date” and names LG as the producer and “you” as the director of a movie.
As for what LG’s got in store, it’s possible that we could see the rumored V10 at the event. The V10 was recently leaked by Chinese government agency TENAA and is said to sport a secondary “ticker” display, similar to the one found on 2010’s Samsung Continuum, but at the top of its screen instead of the bottom like on the Continuum. The Continuum’s ticker display never really seemed to take off, so it’ll be interesting to see how LG talks up the feature on the V10.
Also rumored to be included with the V10 is a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 16-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a fingerprint reader.
