Earlier this year, BLU introduced the Vivo Air, a super-slim Android phone that measures just 5.1mm thick. Unfortunately, one feature that wasn’t crammed into that thin body was 4G LTE connectivity. Now BLU has an updated version of the Vivo Air that does offer faster cellular speeds.
The BLU Vivo Air LTE is an LTE-enabled version of the Vivo Air, but it’s also got a couple of other notable changes. For example, the Vivo Air LTE offers 2GB of RAM, double that of the regular Vivo Air. The Vivo Air LTE also comes with Android 5.0 out of the box, whereas the Vivo Air launched with Android 4.4. Finally, the Vivo Air LTE is powered by an quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, while the Vivo Air came with an octa-core MediaTek chipset.
Rounding out the Vivo Air LTE’s spec list is 16GB of storage, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, a 2050mAh battery, and an aluminum housing. Oh yeah, and there’s the LTE connectivity, which includes support for bands 2, 4, and 7. That means that it’ll work on AT&T and T-Mobile, but it’s lacking some of the bands that these carriers support, like T-Mobile’s band 12. Also included is 3G 850/1700/1900/2100 support.
The BLU Vivo Air LTE will be available for pre-order from Amazon today for $199, with orders expected to ship before September 22. That’s not a bad price for a super-thin Android phone, and with a 4.8-inch display, the Vivo Air LTE could be worth a look for fans of smallish screens. Just be sure that you’re ok with the phone’s LTE band support before clicking that “Add to Cart” button.
