Lenovo intros new Android phones, including two with 6.8 and 6.98-inch screens

Today’s a big day for Lenovo. The company is introducing a slew of Android phones that are aimed at three specific crowds: phablet lovers, selfie addicts, and folks that just want a ginormous battery in their smartphone.

First up we’ve got the Lenovo Phab Plus, shown above. The Phab Plus features a whopping 6.8-inch 1920x1080 display, making it one of the largest smartphones that we’ve ever seen. Lenovo has included several one-hand gestures aimed at making this huge device manageable with a single hand, though, including double tap to wake, shake to lock, and long-press on the screen to take a photo.

Packed inside of the Phab Plus’s gigantic body is a 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and a 3500mAh battery. It runs Android 5.0 beneath Lenovo’s custom UI.

Just in case the Phab Plus isn’t big enough for you, Lenovo’s got an even larger model just known as the Phab. The non-plussed Phab  has a 6.98-inch HD display, octa-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 4250mAh battery.

Both the Lenovo Phab Plus and Phab will launch in September priced at $299 and $179, respectively. They’ll be sold in China, India, Hong Kong, Mexico, and parts of Eastern Europe.

Next up is the Lenovo VIBE S1, the selfie addict’s phone. The VIBE S1’s claim to fame is that it’s got two cameras on its face: an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth-sensing camera. Lenovo says that these two cameras “work in tandem to unleash a myriad of new possibilities that can give selfies a creative twist.”

After taking a photo, you can refocus your selfie, add a bokeh effect, or simply eliminate a random photobomber that may have encroached on your shot. You can also use a Cut Out feature to crop yourself out of a photo and paste yourself on another image, whether that’s one you took with the S1’s rear camera or a photo that you downloaded from the Internet.

The rest of the VIBE S1’s spec list includes a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2500mAh battery, and Android 5.0. The VIBE S1 will launch in November in countries where Lenovo products are sold. Pricing will be $299.

Finally, we come to the Lenovo VIBE P1 (above) and P1m (below). These phones are all about battery life, offering 4000mAh and 5000mAh batteries, respectively. In addition to these large juice packs, the P1 and P1m have physical power saver switches and support On-The-Go Charging, letting you charge up other USB devices using their batteries.

The Lenovo VIBE P1 is the higher-end of these two battery monsters, boasting a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 screen, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and Android 5.1. Meanwhile, the P1m’s got a 5-inch 1280x720 screen, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage a microSD slot, and Android 5.1.

Both the Lenovo VIBE P1 and P1m will launch in mid-September in countries where Lenovo phones are typically sold. The P1 will sell for $279, while the P1m will set buyers back $159.
