Last month, Google surprised us all with a major restructure and the launch of a new company called Alphabet. Now Google is starting September off with a bang by announcing some more major company news.
Google today took the wraps off of a new logo that the company says reflects “a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs.” Coming along with the new logo are new icons that you’ll see when performing different tasks. For example, there’s a new multi-colored Google “G” that’s replacing the old blue “G” icon, and a new colorful microphone that’ll appear when you’re interacting with Google by talking, tapping, or typing.
The new Google logo is a pretty big change from previous logos. It’s a sans serif font that’s much more modern and better fits with the material design that we’ve seen on Android and Google’s other products lately. Google says that its new design will be rolling out across its products soon, so keep an eye out.
