Sprint Galaxy S6, S6 edge getting Samsung Pay and more with new updates

Last week, the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ launched with unique features, including Samsung Pay. Now Sprint is bringing some of those special features to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.

Sprint is now pushing updates to its versions of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, bringing them more in line software-wise with the Note 5 and S6 edge+. Here’s what the two updates contain:

  • Samsung Pay
  • Live broadcasting via Yahoo!
  • High Quality Audio (with Samsung headsets)
  • UI updates
  • Bug fixes

Samsung Pay is still about a month away from launching in the US, but with today’s update, Sprint Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners will be ready to go on day one. And hey, some UI updates and bug fixes are always welcome.

If you’ve got a Sprint Galaxy S6 or S6 edge, keep an eye out for these updates in the coming days. Alternatively, you can try to manually pull your device’s update by going into Settings > System Update > Update now.
