Google's Project Fi will give you a cheap Nexus 6 if you damage your phone

Project Fi has several benefits if you’re lucky enough to join the service. There’s the service that runs on Sprint, T-Mobile, and Wi-Fi networks, the Project Fi app that’ll let you easily manage your account and check data usage, and the data offerings that’ll repay you for megabytes that you don’t use. Today one more Project Fi benefit has been revealed.

If you’re a Project Fi customer, Google will give you a a replacement Nexus 6 for $100 if you accidentally damage your first N6. Simply call up Google’s Project Fi support, shoot ‘em an email, or start up a chat and you can get a replacement Nexus 6 on the cheap.

Of course, there are a few caveats with this offer. You’ll need to have bought your original Nexus 6 through the Project Fi setup process to qualify,  and you’ll have to request your replacement within one year. Additionally, you can only get one $100 replacement. After that, you’ll have to shell out the full price for a new Nexus 6.

Google isn’t really advertising this Nexus 6 replacement offer, but if you’re a Project Fi user, it’s definitely something to keep in mind. While the Nexus 6 is nearing its first birthday and will likely soon be replaced, it’s not an inexpensive device, with the 32GB model starting at $499. But if you did end up getting an N6 through Project Fi when signing up for the service, you’ve now got peace of mind knowing that if you should accidentally crack your N6’s screen or damage it with water, you can get a fresh new phone on the cheap.
