A few months ago, Google announced some new features that they were adding to Google Classroom, an app that hopes to produce an interactive education environment where students and teachers can easily communicate with one another. With their recent update, the app also received a welcomed change by way of mobile alerts.
Through this, Google hopes that students will stay ahead of their schoolwork, as they can immediately receive alerts for new assignments or grades, teacher’s notes, comments from other classmates, and many more. Once they receive the notifications, the student can view it in the app or make the necessary move right away. For the teachers, this update gives them the assurance that each student receives notice of a new assignment, provided they are using the app.
The new notifications featured on the Google Classroom app will start rolling out over the next few days. Additionally, both Android and iOS versions of the app will receive a share button to send out work to other services, an option to re-use assignments, and a new developer API.
