Take note, Sprint customers: your big yellow carrier has started rolling out carrier aggregation.
An internal Sprint document leaked by a verified employee on Reddit has revealed that Sprint Spark band 41 carrier aggregation is now live in more than three dozen US markets. Those include Boston, Long Island, Indianapolis, Austin, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Las Vegas.
Of course, in order to access this carrier aggregation tech, you’re going to need a compatible device. According to the leaked doc, the Sprint devices that current support the feature are the HTC One M9, LG G4, LG G Flex 2, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, and the ZTE Hotspot. Sprint says that it looks forward to increasing that number, so we should see that list grow in the future.
If you’re unaware, carrier aggregation offers high peak data rates and an improved data experience for all. This should mean better speeds for compatible devices, so if you’re in one of the markets with Sprint’s carrier aggregation and you’ve got a compatible device, you may want to start running some tests to see what kind of speeds you’re getting.
